Málaga city
Over more than six decades of activity, Santos Arquitectos has designed a considerable number of multi-family residential buildings in various neighbourhoods of Málaga city. This selection brings together a representative sample of that trajectory: collective housing developments that reflect the studio's typological and stylistic evolution within the urban context of the city.
The buildings are spread across different areas of Málaga, from the historic extension to the expansion neighbourhoods, adapting in each case to the planning constraints, the scale of the surroundings and the developer's needs. The resulting architecture engages in dialogue with the established city without abandoning a contemporary expression: facades of carefully considered composition, quality materials and efficient resolution of the residential programme.
Each development responds to its own functional programme, with apartments of varying sizes and types, ground-floor commercial units and communal areas appropriate to each context. Constructive rationality, optimisation of usable floor area and attention to the detail of joinery, finishes and facade elements are constants that characterise the studio's entire body of residential work in Málaga city.
