Historic Centre, Málaga
El Museo Apartamentos is the full rehabilitation of a historic building in the centre of Málaga, located in the surroundings of the Picasso Museum and the Alcazaba. The project transforms a disused property into a collection of high-quality tourist apartments that respect and showcase the original architecture of the building.
The intervention retains the historic facade and the load-bearing wall structure, redistributing the interior to create units of different typologies: studios, one-bedroom apartments, and two-storey duplexes. The interior finishes combine respect for the original materials — timber joinery, fired terracotta floors — with contemporary kitchen, bathroom and lighting solutions.
The result is a building that honours its history while offering the level of comfort and design demanded by the luxury tourist apartment market in the centre of Málaga. The floor plan included in the dossier illustrates the solution adopted to optimise the programme within the existing structure.
