This private villa in La Zagaleta — the most exclusive luxury estate in Europe — embodies the studio's ambition to create homes that are at once exceptional in their programme and deeply rooted in their setting. The site, on the foothills of the Sierra de Ronda with panoramic views over the Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar, calls for an architecture equal to the landscape.
The project chooses a timeless classical Mediterranean language: two-storey cubic volumes with a tiled roof, stone and stucco facades in terracotta tones that echo the colours of the surrounding sierra, and a symmetrical composition establishing a visual axis from the entrance through to the pool and the sea views. The villa is sited on the hillside so that every room benefits from the best orientation and views.
The centrepiece of the villa's outdoor life is the pool terrace, resolved with great compositional clarity: two sheets of water at different levels — the main pool and an overflow channel — frame the views towards the sea and countryside. The limestone paving, the precise geometry of the pools and the absence of superfluous decoration give this space a clarity that amplifies the beauty of the natural landscape surrounding it.
