Historic Centre, Málaga
Rehabilitation of a historic building in the centre of Málaga for conversion into a hotel establishment. The project addresses the tension between preserving the heritage value of the facade and the need to adapt the property to the technical and functional standards of contemporary hotel use.
The historic facade, of notable architectural value, is restored and consolidated maintaining its original elements — mouldings, balconies, joinery — while the interior is completely reorganised to accommodate rooms, communal areas and services. The result is a hotel that turns the building's heritage value into the main distinguishing feature of the guest experience.
